Knysna Lagoon
The picturesque town of Knysna nestles on the shores of the Knysna Lagoon. The lagoon (its really an estuary) is a favourite for fishermen and water sport enthusiasts, with boating, sailing, water skiing and scuba diving near the Heads, the majestic sentinels that guard the entrance to the lagoon. The town of Knysna is well known for the variety of eating establishments and shops specializing in wooden furniture and ornaments made from the indigenous timbers found in the forests nearby. Knysna is only five hours drive from Cape Town and two and a half hours from Port Elizabeth. It is ideally situated to enable visitors to explore the other wonders of the Garden Route.
